Letter from the President

2 October 2016

Splendid summer, promising autumn

Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Club Vela Palamós has lived a very intense summer. Undoubtedly, it is the high season and we register the highest level of activity. We have been able to celebrate again, all together, the Members’ Evening and commemorate the 70 years since the Foundation of our club, the oldest club in the Costa Brava.

We have introduced a new parking system offering more car parking spaces to try to give the maximum service to our members and friends. We have also proudly displayed the Blue Flag which was awarded this year for the first time and which we wish to keep for many years.

We now take the first steps into the autumn-winter season with the return of the sports activities with regattas such as the Trofeu Vila de Palamós for dinghy sailing, Regata Cunillera for RS sailboats and the Regata Palamós-Baix Empordà, which will bring to our Club visitors from all around the territory. The Winter Sailing School starts again and we will continue with the School programme Palamós Esportiu which started a decade ago, in collaboration with Palamós City Council and the different schools in our town.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the excellent work carried out over the past years by Dolors Rodríguez, the up to now Ports de la Generalitat general manager and at the same time we wish to welcome the new manager Joan Pere Gómez, wishing him the best of luck in this new period.

We also wish to congratulate Xavier Torres for his renewal as president of the Federació Catalana de Vela and the incorporation of Miquel Aviñó, CNCB-CVP Sports vice-president, to the FCV managing board.

Activities goes on and we wish to continue growing day after day as a Club, offering the maximum services to our members and Palamós.

Best wishes,

Eduard Sallés i Archs
President
